Illinois Masonic Children’s Home

McDonough-Whitlow, P.C. was the structural subconsultant for three housing units and an administrative building.  The housing units were wood-framed with conventional wood trusses, wood stud walls, truss-joist floor system, and shallow spread footings.  The administration building has wood truss roof system and wood stud walls at the first level and concrete and masonry walls at the lower level to support concrete hollow core floor system at the first level.  The foundations were shallow spread footings.
